Anonymous Content has partnered with Paris-based banner Charades to handle sales of “Vermiglio,” an Italian drama directed by Maura Delpero (“Maternal”) and set to compete at the Venice Film Festival.

AC Independent, a division of AC Studios, and Charades will co-represent North American rights. International sales will be handled by Charades.

The Italian-language film is co-produced by Cinedora with Italy’s Rai Cinema, Charades Productions in France and Versus Production in Belgium.

Vermiglio is a high-mountain village of the Italian Alps where the movie is set. The story takes place in 1944, as World War II looms as a distant but constant threat. The arrival of Pietro, a refugee soldier, disrupts the dynamics of a local teacher’s family, changing them forever. During the four seasons marking the end of the war, Pietro and Lucia, the eldest daughter of the teacher, fall in love and marry, leading them to an unexpected fate. As the world emerges from its tragedy, the family will face its own.
